The Glynn River Railway Bridge project was to replace the existing masonry pier and concrete slab bridge which had fallen into a state of disrepair and was considered to be at risk from catastrophic flood damage.
Design ID were commissioned in March 2015 to undertake the Design Check for the bridge, in a very tight timescale, working closely with the Main Contractor. The proposals included precast concrete beams, wing walls, abutments and pile cross head beams, stitched together and to the piles on site with rapid hardening concrete.
