It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we set up shop at Huckletree in Dublin. Being in such a diverse workspace has been inspiring and the energy of the city has fuelled our growth and creativity.
Amy Dillon wins STEM Champion at the Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Awards.

We are elated to share that our Principal Engineer Amy Dillon won the STEM Champion award at the 2024 CN, GE & NCE Inspiring Women in Construction & Engineering this week.
The Judges described Amy as having "had an incredible impact in STEM in her career. She has led on many initiatives including CityZEN and The Big Bridge Project in collaboration with the I.C.E. It is clear that her determination will continue scaling up in the future. Amy has created a legacy beyond her initiatives."

This year the Fun Managers became Taskmasters & set the company a plethora of tasks to complete whilst on a treasure hunt across Antrim, Tyrone & Derry. It was a brilliant day visiting The Star Gazer in Davagh Forest, The 23m timber span foot bridge and trails in Faughan Valley & Bay Road Bridge on the NW Greenway all whilst getting photos with postboxes, swings, human pyramids and moving skittles without touching them! We lathered up with suncream and took a walking tour of Derry City before the awards ceremony in The Walled City Brewery & shimmied to Stitch & Weave to tear up the dancefloor. Thank you Sports & Social you knocked it out of the park this year.

Harriet & Stephen ran the 2024 London marathon, this in itself is an incredibly impressive but to do it in 19 degree heat... WOW.
Stephen nabbed himself a ballot entry and Harriet Warnock ran to raise money and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation in honour of her sister Helen. https://www.justgiving.com/pag...

Friday 13th is unlucky for some but - not us! Design ID had a table at the Awards night held at the Titanic Hotel Belfast. Out of the 5 project Awards - Design ID collected not 1 but 2 awards!
We won Best small project for The Roddy McCorley Heritage Centre and a special award was given to Giants of the Sperrins. We were also very pleased to support both Mark Coughlin as he was presented with the John Hill Cup for the Best Performance in a group structural design project in Stage 4, and Rahul Wala collected the Adrian Long Cup. A very successful evening!

Concrete Society Bowling Champions 2023

Reigning champions Design ID participated in the Concrete Society NI Bowling Competition and emerged victorious. The team [Simon, David, Mark M, Aaron & Mark P] beat off competition from 20 teams, to reign supreme. Mark M also won the prize for the highest individual score AGAIN.
Thanks to the event organisers, we cannot wait for next years event!!
Conservation Accredited Engineers (CARE).

Ireland has 5 CARE accreditated Engineers and Design ID have 2 of them... Managing Director Jonathan Macauley and Associate Conall Doherty have recently been appointed Conservation Accredited Engineers (CARE).
To be accepted to this register they have gone through a rigorous assessment process to demonstrate that they have a strong understanding of and empathy with conservation philosophy, as well as an extensive knowledge of the use, behaviour and degradation of historic materials. This allows them to provide superior insight into problems which may occur and to develop solutions which cause the minimum of intervention.
