Design ID were appointed as Civil and Structural Engineers for the new seven screen cinema on the Kevlin Road in Omagh at the former Desmond's factory site. The new cinema features an Omniplex MAXX screen; the first premium large format screen in Co Tyrone. The screen, which is the largest in the country, standing at 18.7m by 10.2m, is over twice the height of two double decker buses. The building has been constructed using a steel frame to create the large open spaces and also allows the cinemas to be placed at first floor with a number of food retail outlets at ground floor to minimise the overall footprint.
