Delivering and handing over improved educational space to a tight programme is critical to minimise disruption to pupils at the school and ensure a seamless return prior to the new academic year. Firhouse Post-Primary School in County Dublin required renewed science, music, arts, technology and specialist classrooms formed as part of 100 modules assembled into a 2-storey modular school.

Design ID showcased their expertise in both education and MMC in creating a sustainable and lightweight design consisting of both hot-rolled and light-gauge steel. Utilising the benefits of modular construction, a series of 12 classrooms and 5 specialist classrooms have been created as part of an ongoing framework with the Department of Education in Ireland. As a result, both substructure and superstructure designs were extremely efficient and resulted in minimised material wastage due to module standardisation across the scheme.
