Heather Thornton

Heather studied Business Administration Management with Tourism, after completing her studies she indulged her passion for travel. Spending a few years travelling and working, before settling back in Northern Ireland. Now a days her adventures include her husband and two boys, usually incorporated with some skiing, tennis and/or Pilates.

Heather’s journey with Design ID started in 2016, she joined as an Admin Assistant, progressing to Bid Co Ordinator and now is our Bid Support Manager. While working at Design ID she has enjoyed learning about the industry and building relationships with suppliers and colleagues alike. Heather’s key roles are identifying and sourcing new opportunities, and managing the bid process from start to finish. She sits along side and is very much involved with the marketing department who love to publicise when she wins work in both the public and private sector.

In 2023 Heather successfully completed her Association of Proposal Management Proposals Foundation Accreditation.

Fun Fact: Heather has taught herself to play the ukulele. She and her mum play with a group to raise money for local charities.
