Ronan is a Senior Associate at Design ID and a Chartered Civil Engineer with experience spanning buildings, bridges, civil infrastructure and the assessment of existing structures. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, he completed his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2015, graduating top of his class and receiving the Institution of Civil Engineers’ Student Prize.

Ronan joined Design ID the same year and has since worked across a diverse range of projects, acting as Permanent Works Engineer, Temporary Works Engineer and Employer’s Representative. This variety has given him a broad perspective on project delivery and helps him bring pragmatic, well‑balanced solutions to clients. Notable schemes he has contributed to include Connswater Bridge, Ballynameen Bridge, Brentford Community Stadium and the Frederick Street Multi‑Storey Car Park.

Becoming a Chartered Member of the ICE in 2020, Ronan has grown into a client‑facing leadership role where he leads the design development and management of civil infrastructure and temporary works projects. He is committed to clear communication, coordinated delivery and creating designs that work seamlessly from concept through to construction.

Ronan is also an active member of the professional community, having served as Chair of the ICE Northern Ireland Graduates and Students Committee for the 2019–2020 programme year.
