Concrete Society Annual Lecture QUB

Design ID’s Simon Lamont, was invited to deliver the Annual Concrete Society Lecture to Final Year Masters students, in discussion of his career to date in the design and construction of concrete structures. This included a wide variety of Civil and Structural Engineering Structures, ranging from £1.5m regional sports stadia to £50m marine developments. There was also a number of bridge projects, including the highly specialised design of pre-stressed precast concrete bridge beams. The presentation delivered jointly with James Smyth, a Contracts Director with Alexander Civil Engineering, who focused on his significant experience across some notable projects including Victoria Square Deep Basement, Translink Platform extensions and various NI Water Infrastructure.
