Mark Paine

Mark is a Senior Engineer at Design ID specialising in drainage and earthworks design, with strong expertise in Civil 3D and MicroDrainage. He brings a practical, detail‑driven approach to civil engineering and is committed to delivering coordinated, efficient and buildable solutions. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Mark spent seven years with Doran Consulting before joining Design ID in 2023, gaining valuable experience across commercial, energy, education, health and residential sectors.

His project portfolio includes major infrastructure and energy schemes, such as the expansion of the Old Bushmills Distillery’s production and offsite maturation facilities, the Dogger Bank A, B and C onshore converter stations, Kintore Substation, and multiple Energy Recovery Facilities. This work has strengthened his understanding of complex, multidisciplinary design environments and large‑scale civil engineering delivery.

At Design ID, Mark is focused on driving design quality and improving civil engineering workflows through digital tools and collaborative ways of working. He enjoys working closely with architects, contractors and clients to refine designs, solve problems early and support projects from concept through construction.
