Francisco Sa Lourenco

Francisco is a Senior Civil Engineer at Design ID with strong experience in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects across Ireland, from initial concept development through to construction and project completion.

He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico – University of Lisbon and is a Member of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland. Francisco worked for one year in Portugal and six years in the Republic of Ireland before joining Design ID.

He brings expertise in drainage, water supply, estate roads and sustainable drainage systems, as well as experience in transport studies and flood risk assessments across residential, commercial, industrial and renewable energy developments. His strong understanding of Irish planning and design standards, combined with proficiency in industry software such as Causeway Flow and Civil 3D, supports the delivery of practical, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Francisco is proactive and solution-focused in his approach, collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients, local authorities, utility providers and contractors to ensure high-quality design outcomes that deliver long-term value for clients, communities and the environment.
