Carlos Rojao

Carlos is a Structural Engineer at Design ID and holds a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with Architecture from Queen’s University Belfast. He began his career as a site engineer with Farrans Construction, gaining hands‑on experience across major educational building projects in England that included both new‑build and refurbishment works. This early exposure to construction delivery has given him a strong appreciation for buildability and practical design solutions.

Since joining Design ID, Carlos has contributed to a wide range of projects within the Building Structures team, working on multi‑storey reinforced concrete frames, domestic steel structures and various refurbishment schemes. He is known for his methodical approach, clear technical reasoning and ability to collaborate effectively with design teams to resolve complex structural challenges.

Carlos continues to expand his expertise across multiple material types and project scales, with a strong focus on producing coordinated, high‑quality designs. He also previously served as Chairperson of the Institution of Structural Engineers Northern Ireland Young Members Group, where he supported professional development initiatives and industry engagement among early‑career engineers.
