Niamh is a Chartered Civil Infrastructure Engineer and Principal Engineer at Design ID, leading the delivery of complex public realm and infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK. She holds a First Class MEng in Structural Engineering with Architecture from Queen’s University Belfast and became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2025.
She has been instrumental in establishing and scaling Design ID’s Dublin office, leading local project delivery and supporting strategic growth in Ireland. Niamh works closely with clients, contractors and stakeholders and currently acts as Employer’s Representative, overseeing delivery and ensuring successful outcomes across major public realm, active travel and infrastructure projects, including a landmark pedestrian bridge in County Westmeath.
Her portfolio spans heritage, tourism, industrial and rail infrastructure, with notable projects including award-winning Swan Park Restoration, Fort Dunree Redevelopment, and the Lough Key Activity Centre Redevelopment. Her work has been recognised with the ICE NI Emerging Engineer of the Year (2021) and the ICE Ferguson Medal (2023).
Committed to the profession, Niamh served as Chair of the ICE NI Early Careers Network (2022–23) and continues to champion early career development and industry engagement across Ireland.
