Ryan Johnson

Ryan is a Engineer at Design ID and studied Structural Engineering with Architecture at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating with First Class Honours. He previously completed an industrial placement with the company, where he gained valuable experience working primarily on temporary works design.

During his placement year, Ryan contributed to the design and assessment of temporary structures, developing strong practical skills in construction sequencing, stability, and buildability. His experience gave him an early appreciation for how engineering decisions translate directly to site, strengthening his interest in delivering safe, efficient and well‑coordinated solutions.

Ryan brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to his work and is keen to continue developing his technical skills while contributing to projects across the practice.
