Harriet is a Civil Engineer at Design ID and holds a Master’s degree in Geology (MGeol) from the University of Leicester, where she specialised in structural geology and rock physics, alongside developing expertise in hydrogeology, sustainability and environmental processes. She went on to complete a Master’s in Environmental Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating with Distinction in 2020. Her Masters research on three‑dimensional groundwater flow modelling for peatland restoration was recognised as runner‑up in the Institution of Civil Engineers Emerging Engineers Award 2021.

Since joining Design ID in 2020, Harriet has applied her technical background to develop a strong understanding of ground conditions across project sites, bringing clarity to early‑stage assessments and informing integrated civil engineering solutions. Her work focuses on detailed drainage design, the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and the development of Drainage Strategies for planning submissions. She has a particular interest in sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and continues to build specialist knowledge in environmentally responsible design.
