Joanne Irvine

As HR Manager Joanne has been a key part of the practice’s growth since joining in 2008. With a background in Information Management and Economics from Queen’s University Belfast, followed by further management qualifications, she spent 12 years in retail management specialising in customer relations and human resources within a large multinational environment. This early experience shaped her strong people‑centred approach and her commitment to creating positive, supportive workplaces.

Joining Design ID in its early development, Joanne initially worked as Business Support Manager before progressing into her current HR leadership role. She now oversees all aspects of human resources across the business.

Joanne is known for her balanced, empathetic leadership style and her focus on building an inclusive, collaborative culture where people feel valued and able to thrive. She plays a central role in supporting staff wellbeing, guiding managers and contributing to the continued professionalisation of HR practices as the company grows.
