Gary Brett

Gary is a Principal Technician and Project Engineer at Design ID, bringing over 20 years of experience in structural engineering consultancy. He has delivered high‑quality drawings, models and technical outputs across a wide range of private and public‑sector projects throughout Ireland and the UK. Gary is highly proficient in Masterseries, TEDDs, Revit, AutoCAD and RC CADS and has designed and detailed a number of quality projects since joining Design ID.

He began his career with RPS in 2004 before progressing to roles with Creagh Concrete and later WYG, which became Tetra Tech. Gary became a Chartered Technician with the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2015 and achieved a First‑Class Honours BEng in Civil Engineering in 2022. This progression has enabled him to expand into design-focused responsibilities, including the design, management and detailing of several structural schemes.

Gary joined Design ID in March 2024 to further develop his design expertise and work toward Chartered Engineer status. He is also the current Honorary Treasurer for the Institution of Structural Engineers Northern Ireland Regional Group since 2024..
