Niloshen Moodley

Niloshen is an Associate at Design ID and a Chartered Engineer with 14 years experience across the industrial, energy, infrastructure and marine sectors. He started his career at South Africa’s national power utility in 2011 after graduating from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Initially seconded to the 4,800 MW Medupi Power Station construction site, he gained early hands-on experience in project engineering, structural design, and major site-based delivery. After returning to the Centralised Engineering Division, he provided civil and structural engineering services across the full fleet of power stations, working on a wide portfolio of projects across several operational systems.

Since joining Design ID in 2021, Niloshen has broadened his infrastructure portfolio extending to major infrastructure schemes. Niloshen brings a practical design philosophy focusing on lean engineering principles and the reuse of existing structures. These include highway and railway structures, marine infrastructure and the development of a strong capability in temporary works, supporting Tier 1 contractors.

Niloshen is registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE) and a member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering.
