Keith Trimble

As a Senior Associate at Design ID Keith brings over 20 years’ experience across the energy, civil infrastructure and public realm sectors. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast with a Master’s in Civil Engineering, he brings a broad technical background shaped by early work in bridges, reinforced concrete structures and major wastewater schemes, including significant contributions to the Belfast Tunnel project—one of Northern Ireland’s most complex underground infrastructure schemes.

Keith began his career with WDR & RT Taggart before moving into the energy sector, where he spent more than 13 years with SSE Renewables and EDF, helping to develop and deliver over 3GW of onshore and offshore wind projects across the UK and Ireland. This experience underpins his strong interest in expanding Design ID’s involvement in the energy sector and supporting clients in delivering resilient, low‑carbon infrastructure.

He believes success comes from collaboration, standardisation and continuous improvement, and he applies this mindset to both project delivery and team leadership. Keith is passionate about developing people, fostering open communication and creating the conditions for engineers to grow.

He also supports the Institution of Civil Engineers as a Professional Reviewer for CEng, IEng and EngTech candidates, mentoring and assessing emerging engineers since 2014.
