Amy Dillon is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Principal Engineer at Design ID, where she leads civil and infrastructure projects with a focus on contractor design, project management, health and safety, and delivering meaningful social value. She brings a clear, practical approach to every project, supported by her strong grounding in construction safety and her membership of the Association for Project Safety.
Alongside her engineering work, Amy is the Project Director of The Big Bridge, a not‑for‑profit STEM initiative that has engaged more than 3,000 students across Ireland through hands‑on engineering workshops. She is also nationally recognised for her creative outreach programmes, including the award‑winning Zombie Apocalypse Workshop and her leadership in developing the Institution of Civil Engineers’ City Zen digital simulation game.
Amy is an active advocate for diversity and inclusion within the profession, contributing to several ICE committees, mentoring early‑career engineers and organising events that promote representation and engagement within the industry.
Her work has earned multiple accolades, including RAEng Young Engineer of the Year, a place on the Top 50 Women in Engineering list, and Construction News Rising Star. She brings energy, creativity and a strong social purpose to every project and initiative she leads.
