The 1-33 Liddell Road Project comprises the construction of a mixed-use development and associated public realm landscaping works at the Liddell Road light industrial estate. The development is divided into three blocks comprising Block A (5-storeys), Block B (11-storeys) and Block C (5-storeys) to provide to provide 3,700m2
of mixed commercial use and 106 mixed tenure residential units.

Design ID were appointed by Cfield Construction Ltd in 2021 to assist with Temporary Works Design and Checking, as well managing all necessary Network Rail Third Party Approvals. This included but not limited to the following key responsibilities:

  • Appointment as CRE and CEM, responsible for the management and co-ordination of the technical and engineering design activities and accountable for all design and construction works interfacing with the adjacent railway.
  • Contiguous pile wall CAT3 design check, including ground movement analysis for excavation and wall design due to proximity to track.
  • Track monitoring risk assessment and specifications for contig and boundary wall monitoring during construction.
  • CAT3 design check of working platforms for various piling rigs and mobile cranes.
  • CAT3 design check of tower crane pile cap foundation and CFA piles.
  • Compilation of Statements of Design intent and Certificates of Design and Check in accordance with Network Rail Standards and obtaining necessary Design Approvals.
  • CRE RAMS reviews for construction works interfacing with railway including piling, tower crane erection and lifting activities and obtaining necessary Construction Approvals.
