As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will coordinate project teams, drive technical problem solving and innovation, and ensure high-quality project delivery for our clients. You will use your experience in structural, civil or geotechnical design to provide technical expertise, support project planning and oversee the technical output of a skilled team.

What You'll Do
▪ Coordinating project teams and ensuring clear, consistent communication across disciplines.
▪ Delivering technical engineering solutions and applying innovative approaches to problem solving.
▪ Producing and reviewing design work using software relevant to structural, civil or geotechnical design.
▪ Managing project quality and ensuring outputs meet client, regulatory and internal standards.
▪ Supporting project management including programming, budgeting and resource planning.
▪ Preparing engineering reports, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
▪ Providing leadership, mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduates.
▪ Managing project deadlines and budgets to ensure efficient, timely delivery.
▪ Engaging with clients, representing Design ID professionally at meetings and workshops.
▪ Supporting the delivery of projects from early feasibility through to construction involvement.
▪ Collaborating with the wider engineering team across multidisciplinary project environments.
▪ Undertaking other duties that fall within the scope and level of the role.
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Minimum CEng qualification, or working towards with strong evidence of progression.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong software skills relevant to structural, civil or geotechnical engineering design.
- Experience in project management and technical delivery across multiple stages of design.
- Ability to coordinate project teams and deliver high-quality technical outputs.
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and project budgets effectively.
- Experience delivering projects from scheme design through to on‑site support.
Desirable
Experience in one or more of the areas the team currently specialises in:
- Road and bridge projects.
- Railway infrastructure projects (including work with national rail operators).
- Architecturally challenging bespoke footbridge projects.
- Public realm design.
- Active Travel
- Civil engineering path development schemes (for public, charitable or land management organisations).
- Geotechnical engineering including:
– Basements
– Retaining structures
– Temporary works
– Slope stability - Experience working directly with public sector clients or within Design & Build (D&B) project environments.
- Ability to support multidisciplinary collaboration across the organisation.
