As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of high‑quality projects and the continued growth of the business.
You will be a senior technical contributor who enjoys leading projects while remaining hands‑on. You will be comfortable coordinating teams, programmes and budgets, and taking responsibility for project outcomes. This role combines technical delivery, project coordination, client engagement and team development, working closely with senior colleagues to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to a consistently high standard.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of projects from early concept through design and construction or implementation.
- Act as Lead Engineer on small to medium‑sized projects, delivering high‑quality technical solutions in line with relevant standards and regulations
- Prepare, review and check technical outputs including calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
- Lead technical problem‑solving and contribute practical, innovative and efficient solutions.
- Support projects through all stages, from early‑stage development through to construction or delivery support.
- Ensure project quality, health & safety and risk management requirements are met.
- Coordinate project teams and support effective communication and collaboration across disciplines.
- Manage workloads and priorities to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Provide guidance, mentoring and day‑to‑day support to junior engineers and graduates.
- Help maintain a consistent quality of output across project teams and contribute to continuous improvement in technical quality and delivery efficiency.
- Engage directly with clients, stakeholders and project partners as required
- Support project planning, programme tracking and budget management, contribute to fee proposals, early‑stage project development and work‑winning activities where appropriate.
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Minimum CEng qualification (Or working towards with strong evidence of progression)
- Minimum of 5+ years’ relevant experience in a consultancy or project‑based environment.
- Strong experience in technical delivery and coordination of projects across multiple sectors.
- A strong understanding of engineering design principles and applicable standards.
- Ability to manage deadlines, priorities and multiple workstreams effectively.
- Demonstratable communication, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting projects from early‑stage development through to delivery.
Desirable
- Experience working with public and/or private sector clients.
- Familiarity with planning, approval or consent processes.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of project budgets.
- You will be comfortable supporting and mentoring developing engineers.
- Show a commitment to technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
