The Think Design Engineer Foundation is a registered community interest company operating as a social enterprise focused on inspiring the next generation of engineers through engaging, hands-on STEM outreach. Our flagship programme, The Big Bridge, is a 13 metre long, 3-metre-high buildable bridge kit that allows students to experience real engineering principles in a practical and memorable way. We work with schools, councils, and industry partners to deliver high-impact sessions that promote engineering, sustainability, and problem solving.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the delivery of our Big Bridge workshops in schools and community settings. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about inspiring young people in an engaging and accessible way.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the delivery of interactive STEM workshops using The Big Bridge
• Assist with set up, facilitation, and pack down of equipment
• Engage with students and encourage participation and teamwork
• Support lead facilitators during sessions
• Act as a positive role model and ambassador for engineering
Who We Are Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals with:
• An interest in STEM, construction, or education
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
• A professional, reliable, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm and willingness to get involved
Requirements
• Must be able to travel independently to different locations
• Availability will vary depending on workshop schedule
