Design ID is a specialist civil, structural and infrastructure engineering consultancy delivering high-quality projects across Ireland and the UK. Our work spans marine and coastal infrastructure, public realm and active travel schemes, buildings, structures, transport infrastructure, bridges, ports, harbours and complex multidisciplinary developments.

Due to recent project wins across multiple sectors in Ireland, we are growing our Dublin team and are now looking to appoint a Project Engineer to play a key role in the delivery and continued growth of our Irish business.

What You’ll Do

As a Graduate / Project Engineer, you’ll be involved in every stage of the design and delivery process. You’ll liaise with clients and industry professionals, develop practical structural solutions, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in alignment with the Design ID ethos and project design objectives.
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret engineering data using defined methodologies.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to resolve design challenges.
  • Deliver elements of project design, delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Address and resolve design issues and discrepancies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge through internal seminars.
  • Achieve KPIs aligned with company objectives.

Essential

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in related engineering or associated technical degree
  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Working towards chartership via IStructE, ICE or equivalent

Desirable

Technical Skills:

  • Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT proficiency.
  • Experience with detailed design software (e.g., Masterseries, AutoCAD, Revit, Robot, Tekla).
  • Ability to write clear and professional engineering reports.
  • Sound knowledge of legal, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Competence in complex calculations and technical studies.
