The Finance Administrator provides essential financial administration and transactional support to the business, ensuring day‑to‑day finance processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with company procedures.
The role supports invoicing, purchase ledger, credit control administration, reporting and payroll preparation, contributing to effective financial control across Design ID.
What You'll Do
Transactional Processing
- Process purchase invoices, expense claims and company credit card transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure correct coding and adherence to internal approval procedures
- Maintain organised and auditable financial records
Sales Invoicing
- Raise routine sales invoices in line with agreed fee structures and billing schedules
- Maintain invoice trackers and supporting documentation
- Ensure invoices are issued accurately and promptly
Credit Control & WIP Administration
- Support credit control activities including issue of statements and chasing overdue invoices
- Maintain accurate aged debt and Work in Progress (WIP) records
- Flag anomalies, aged balances or missing information to senior finance staff
Finance Reporting & Payroll Support
- Produce standard finance reports such as invoice trackers, aged debt and WIP summaries
- Support month‑end processes through data preparation and reconciliations
- Collate payroll inputs including timesheets, expenses, starters and leavers
Compliance & General Finance Support
- Maintain financial documentation in line with audit and statutory requirements
- Support internal and external audits by providing financial information as required
- Respond to routine finance queries from staff in a professional and timely manner
Technical and Behavioural Skills
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadline
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Professional and discreet when handling confidential information
- Reliable, methodical and committed to following established processes
- Positive, cooperative team player with a willingness to learn
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Minimum 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at Grade C or above (to include Maths and English)
- Minimum 2 Years experience in a finance, project finance or project administration role
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills
Desirable
- Experience within a professional services or consultancy environment
- Familiarity with invoicing and credit control processes
- AAT qualification or working towards a finance qualification
